Happenings

Husband is on business trip, so it’s just me and the cats. That means I either drive myself to work (lazy) or take public transport (expensive). Eating alone is... fine though. Fruits, eggs, or instant noodles. (Okay, maybe skip the noodles.)

This week has been full of meetings and appointments. Work stuff, personal stuff… basically, I’ve been meeting people left and right. Exhausting, but kind of fun? Maybe my husband's right; my extrovert side is leveling up.

This week also brought a string of sad news, following last week when I also received sad news. Two different friends lost their mothers within just a few hours of each other. A neighbor also had to be hospitalized for surgery. It happened on the same day one of my close aunts died last year.

It brings sadness, of course. But it also brought people together. Because of those events, I met old friends I hadn’t seen in almost nine years. Our friendship is the long-standing casual type; we barely text. Yet, when we met, it felt like yesterday. Bittersweet. Hopefully, the next meetup won’t take another decade--and not because of another sad news.

I also caught up with another friend I hadn’t seen since last year. Been planned since months ago but our schedules keep conflicting with each other so I'm glad it happened this time.

I’ve known her since she was 14, and watching her grow into this amazing woman is honestly such a delight. Talking about our lives, dreams, cozy homes, partners, and pets (me with cats, her with a dog) gave me actual happiness. 😄

Things

so that was this week's weeknotes. I still have three loads of laundry waiting for me, but I have delicious cake in my fridge. So life's good.

See you next week,
